LLOYD W. SCOTT, SR.
Pastor Scott graduated from the Eldorado High School System in 1972. He accepted his call into the ministry in January 1973 and was licensed at the Lily of the Valley Baptist Church of Houston, Texas by Rev. J. B. Bolton. He was ordained as a Minister in April 1984 at Blueridge Baptist Church of Houston by Rev. Doctor Wilson Duke Richardson. He is a former student of Mt. Hope Biblical College, Houston, Texas and American Baptist College-Nashville, Tennessee-Southeast Extension. He continues his education through a multitude of courses and seminars. He has earned certification in Expository Preaching from the E. K. Bailey Ministers' Conference. Pastor Scott received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Encourager’s Ministry and Bible College in the fall of 2002. Pastor Scott served as pastor of Greater Hope Baptist Church of Houston, Texas from May of 1984 to May of 1989. In June of 1989 he became Pastor of Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church of Port Arthur, Texas. He has served as Vice-Moderator and President of the Minister's Conference for the Eastern Progressive Baptist District Association. He has served as lecturer and assistant Minister of Music for the Baptist Missionary and Educational State Convention. He has served as secretary of the Black Pastor's Association of Port Arthur. He presently serves as Chairman of the Port Arthur City Wide Revival Committee, President of the newly developed Concerned Pastors' of Port Arthur, a board member of Weed and Seed Redevelopment Steering Committee, NAACP, a board member S.E.T.I.O (Hurricane Rita disaster recovery), board member of Samaritan Counseling, Inc. and Chaplain of the Port Arthur Police Department.
Pastor Scott has been married to Hope Winifred Myles Scott since May of 1977. They have four children: Samuel, Michael (Tonia), Lloyd, Jr. (Tara), and Bridget and six grandchildren: Tevin, Alaniece, Gabriel, Mikhaela, Keyon'dre, JaBari, and Lloyd, III.
